At first this piece was just another self portrait to practice with facial features and details, but it became much more. I realized I was creating who I’m becoming. The fairy represents my higher self someone who I’m looking up to. When I first sketch this it wasn’t clear what my intentions were I just knew the picture of me would look great with a renaissance theme. But the more I kept painting and going through things in life it just felt fitting. What I like the most about the piece and the process it’s almost like I knew l what I needed to see myself as in this painting before I did. Year 20 felt like I got hit with so many eye openers & it just l reminded me to start putting myself first more.
